Officine Générale: Spring 2023 Menswear

As a gentle wind blows through the Hotel de Soubise, relaxed looks waltzed through the courtyard of Officine Générale’s 10th-anniversary show. This show had a ready-to-wear feel unlike any other, as well-designed shapes were carefully created through this collection’s tailoring.

In an interview with Man Of The Hour backstage, founder, and creative director Pierre Mahéo credited “the morning light” to be the main inspiration for this collection. The weather at the show echoed his inspiration, as the fading evening sun lit the brilliantly colored looks.

Standout looks from this collection included an amethyst button-down paired with cedar pants, a light sky-blue suit, and oversized pants that completed an airy-colored pink set.

Mahéo described the inspiration for the perfectly tailored pants for this show. “I had this image of Nicolas de Staël wearing very large, pleated pants with a loose shirt, but there is still an impression of volume that is very light. And that was the decision for the pants. Extra volume on the bottom, and to keep the jacket a bit normal.”

This collection marks a decade of perfectionism from Officine Générale and continues to redefine the power of Parisian artisanship across the globe.
