Sean Suen Spring/Summer 2019

Combining themes of nature and casual wear, Sean Suen’s spring/summer 2019 strikes a delicate balance between practicality and artistic expression. I enjoyed many of the garments for their simplistic yellow and white color schemes, often fitting into the outdoors theme of the collection, but my enthusiasm fell once I realized that many of the garments were not intended to be worn by the average man. Feminine accessories such as cloth wrapped tightly around the neck are very evident, and the overall vibe of the collection seems to center around a very “free-spirited” concept. Overall, I did enjoy some garments such as the brown overcoat with yellow undershirt, but I fear the show was more concerned with displaying their ambitions than actually providing accessible clothing.
