Man On The Move: Spring Has Sprung

On February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil predicted we would have six more weeks of winter. However, I don’t believe him. Spring is upon us, and with spring comes spring fashion which means pastel colors and lighter fabrics.
Since spring is still chilly, layering and wearing lighter materials such as linen and polyester is key to staying warm but not too warm. A bomber jacket is a great alternative to a wool, winter coat. Also, linen slacks are a lot more breathable compared to cotton slacks.
Berluti’s Spring/Summer 2022 ensembles are great examples of how you should look this spring. The collection is filled with pops of pastel pinks and navy blues splayed on breathable fabrics. The outfits also seamlessly mix casual garments with workplace garments.
Style Advice: To jump on board the pastel business-casual trend this spring, wear a pink bomber jacket ($47) from ASOS over a white authentic Sumipa crew-neck t-shirt ($27) from Banana Republic. For pants, try out marine blue slim Thompson suit pants ($248) from J. Crew and pair them with white Vincent sneakers ($100) from Perry Ellis. To keep this look casual, don’t bother putting on a belt. Instead, tuck the white T-shirt into the slacks so there’s still a clear boundary between the pants and the top without too much restriction. Also, for the briefcase, detach the over-the-shoulder strap and carry it by the handles. This way, you won’t have any extra straps that could get caught on something as you weave in and out of a crowded subway on your way to work.
Must-Have: If you like combining sneakers with slacks for spring, but want a sneaker that embodies spring -but not in a cheesy way - then you need to check out Dior’s B27 low-top sneakers ($1,200).
