Trailing in the summer breeze is an act of leisure for which one’s clothing is usually not a point of contention. For men of a dapper disposition, every article of clothing regardless of context is always a point to be considered. Suit Supply is always a beacon of timeless elegance on a more challenged budget. Their Italian fabricated linen trousers in off-white are no exception. As exhibited in Jeffrey Rudes look, sneakers are the blending item that introduces the element of casual to an otherwise buttoned up ensemble. In this avenue of sartorial guidance we favor the classics, so a crisp pair of Adidas Stan Smiths will strikingly do the job. Sunglasses are the embodiment of leisure and a pure titanium pair from Activist Eyewear punctuates this point. To top the look off, a brown bowling bag from Zara (there is no need to make an ephemeral item an extensive expense) adds an off-setting neutral pop of color. Industry Update: At the Spring 2018 men’s shows in Milan, Italy love was the stance of protest at Ports 1961. There was a splash of social media bred millennials on Dolce & Gabbana’s elongated runway. Donatella instituted a renovation of tradition at the original house of Versace. At Neil Barrett, a complex blending of tailoring and grunge intermixed in a cohesive collection of wearable statements. Etro infused a casual energy into its offering, while retaining the heavily patterned suited feel that makes it such an inimitably luxe entity. Lastly, Dean and Dan of DSquared2 reconfigured imagery with their display of leathered out high fashion sailors. Conclusively at this Milan Fashion Week, conventions were challenged and the status quo was questioned. Designers took it upon themselves to rewire the ticks that have made them successful, while never abandoning the charm that has garnered them their respectively loyal followings. It was a concise selection of aspirational garmenting and high-end style.
