Paul Smith Spring/Summer 2019

A melting pot of different styles and colors, Paul Smith’s spring/summer 2019 runway show displayed a strong consistency across multiple themes and types of garments. The styles ranged from simple striped outfits to full on dark purple suits, and accessories were shown prominently throughout the show. Normally, I would consider a runway show with a lack of a strong theme to have already been at a loss, but Paul Smith does an excellent job of passing around a sample platter of the brand’s different ideas. I particularly loved whenever plaid was involved, as the outfit which consisted of a brown plaid shirt with a silver jacket completely blew me away. I could easily see many of the outfits within this collection fitting well into a man’s closet, as enough variation between casual wear and business wear is shown to increase that possibility.
