Artists You Should Know: Elvie Shane

Elvie Shane

Elvie Shane has worked hard to make a name for himself in Country music. He is new, but his rise has been rapid. Shane pours his heart into his music, and since his debut, he has been a force to be reckoned with. His discography is diverse, although most of his music has deep meaning. Even those not fans of country can find music in his discography that they like.

Shane debuted with his single "My Boy (My Girl Version)." Although this was not the original version of the song that Shane wrote, he released it as his first single in 2020. Having garnered over 7 million streams, "My Boy (My Girl Version)" pulled at the heartstrings of his listeners. It is warm and gives a good perspective on Shane's songwriting style. Shane has a way with words, and the purpose of this track was to show that. The message is specific, and he talks about his relationship with a child that is not his. His articulating his unconditional love throughout the song shows his masterful writing skills. He keeps it simple; the melody line is nothing special, but that is not the point of this song. This track was a fan favorite, and later, Shane released the original version of "My Boy."

In 2021, Shane released his debut album, Backslider. The most popular track from this album was "My Boy," but many other tracks showed his diversity as an artist. Contrary to his debut single, "County Roads" is a hard-hitting, fast-paced country track. Although this track also shows off his songwriting skills, it also shows his skills as a composer and producer. The production is clean, and every aspect of the song goes together well. "Sundays In The South" is another track that resembles the vibe of "County Roads." These two songs from the album show that Shane can write any music he desires.

Shane has an impressive vocal ability. His technique is perfect for the country genre, and in each track, he does an excellent job with his vocal production. "Saturday Night Me," another one of his fast-paced tracks on Backslider, showcases his voice uniquely. Shane mostly keeps the vocals simple, but he also incorporates many well-thought-out harmony lines. Shane is also a good collaborator when it comes to songwriting and performing. "Nothin' Lasts Forever (With Tenille Townes)" focuses more on the vocals and lyrics. Shane and Townes complimented each other in this track, and the combination of their skills made for a great track. Shane is one of today's greatest rising country artists and will only get more popular.
