Industry News: Three fashion student friends, Matthias Weber, Florian Feder and Niklaus Hodel have committed to relaunching Band of Outsiders, America’s playfully preppy brand that called it quits last fall 2015 to submit to its debt. The Business of Fashion reports: this Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Season, the Antwerp Royal Academy grads will resurrect the brand with a cohesive women’s and men’s collection.  Along with the support of Christian Cigrang, Belgian shipping magnate, managing director of Belgian Fashion Fund CLCAA SA, Antony Verbaeys will control the entire brand. Logistics of the brand’s re-launch is still in the works. In a statement, BOF explains, “Aesthetically, there is very little linking the reboot with the original Band of Outsiders. While both lines nod to collegiate style, Sternberg’s look was often rooted in prep-school attire, while Hodel, Weber and Feder are clearly inspired by street wear.” Although the DNA the same, the three designers will bring the brand into a new season where new thoughts explored and inspirations encountered.
