Industry News: Pop-up stores are in fashion. Drake x Future held separate spots around the weekend of their 4-day concert series in New York’s Madison Square Garden in  early August. R&B artist Frank Ocean just hosted several in bodegas and magazine shops around New York City concurrent with the drop of his highly anticipated album "Blonde", as Kanye West takes the phenomenon global last weekend. The rapper turned designer sold his “Life of Pablo” merchandise in 21 spots throughout the world. BOF reports, “ West, 39, announced the move on Twitter on Wednesday with a map of the stores that will be located in cities in the United States, Australia, England, Germany, South Africa and Singapore.” The news had fan followers held onto social media for the release of the locations where these pop up stores would be located, news that would drop just 24 hours before store opening. However pop-up store are not a new concept in the fashion industry. But its relationship to street-style fashion and musician merchandise is, and continues to prove success by launching groundbreaking forms of awareness and hype fashion stores, music and art.
