Man On The Move: A Nice Summer For A White Wedding

Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2018

Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2018

As we saw earlier this year on the runways, the previous trends of the 80's and 90's are coming back, and one of the biggest ones is no exception to that: wearing white from head to toe. Due to the complete-white look often times being a bit overboard, adding some subtle yet effective color accents will perfectly compliment your new fashion forward outfit. These color hues will also provide precise visual representation of where each garment ends and the next one begins; however, you have to be clever as to which color hues you are going to showcase due to the trend's whole point: for one to appear elegantly minimalist. Hey, Michael Kors, shotgun.

Style Advice: Though the all-white look might be visually appealing on a model strutting down the runway, it is not necessarily considered to be practical for the harsh weather conditions of the real world.

Álvaro’s Antonio Suede Sandals ($275). Handmade in a workshop located in the outskirts of Florence, these sandals provide supple suede crisscross straps and are distributed upon leather soles with a slightly raised heel. They would look perfect with neutral tones, such as cream or off white.

The Regular Fit Stretch Cotton Trousers from Hugo Boss ($175).  A comfortable stretch cotton blend in stripes make this pair of shorts comfortably light to wear, even on hot days. These straight-cut men's shorts are an uncomplicated style with great versatility. Pair it with a T-shirt or polo for a minimalist approach.

The Linen Double-Breasted Oversized Sport Coat from Hugo Boss ($695). With a double-breasted design and stark white hue, this sport coat stays true to its nautical heritage. Part of the 2018 Spring Fashion Show, its medium-weight linen construction is fully lined and has a roomy fit that's expertly tailored for a laid-back, yet refined look.

Must Have: A neutral, all-white base provides you with free reign to add pops of color to your look. Utilize accents such as watches, belts, and even shoes to inject life and vibrancy where required. The Weekender Textured-Leather Derby Shoes by Red Wing Shoes ($220). These derby shoes are made of rough out leather in which resembles suede and have a stitch-down construction, so that the rubber-crepe soles can be replaced whenever they start to wear.

Industry Update: After being named the Menswear Designer of the Year two times in a row, the critically-acclaimed Craig Green will officially be skipping out on London Men's Fashion Week this season and presenting his Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence this upcoming June. For Green, showing his next collection at the Italian tradeshow is a logical next step in the process of pushing his label beyond its "emerging designer" status. Even though his brand is only six years old, Green has already caught the eye of the industry's most respected and affluent leaders, providing him with the respect and recognition in which his artistically unique brand ever so deserves.
