22/4 Hommes Spring/Summer 2018

Tapping into nautical themes and utilitarian elements for Spring/Summer 2018, 22/4 Hommes designer Stephanie Hahn incorporated whimsical touches and cheeky detailing to an otherwise simple and straightforward collection of crisp tailoring and sportswear.

Finely cut short-sleeved shirts, suit/short combos and slim trousers in navy and black were the stronger looks in this lineup. The minimal, sophisticated vibes of these pieces bode well for the urbane consumer looking for alternative options from their standard office attire. Incorporating different collar lengths and sleeve shapes are subtle ways to add more variety to one’s wardrobe without stepping out of his comfort zone; these looks nail it with the proportions presented here.

Other ideas the designer expressed for spring and summer are perhaps not as practically viable for modern dressing. The sandals and socks trend still has no place in a stylish man’s wardrobe and for good reason. The sliders shown here would look acceptable on their own whether on a casual walk or other outdoors setting. Rompers like the one shown in this collection have gained significant attention particularly this year due to a kickstarter campaign for the ‘RompHim’ that went viral. The ones being paraded down the runway in this instance have a tad more fashion cred but still lack any widespread appeal. Nevertheless, standard suiting with chunky rope lacing, seahorse patches and safety buckles gave the collection that unique flavor and quirky touch perfect for those summer escapes and tropical outings.
