The opening look of Massimo Giorgetti’s spring collection for MSGM embodied the designer’s affinity for high-impact, show-stopping getups that command attention. The MSGM logo was enlarged, repeated and scaled in size all over the sleek black and white look, which is yet another remindER of how the tides have turned in fashion lately in favor of in-your-face logomania. The logo was also emblazoned on baseball caps, sporty sneakers and even socks. Outerwear was rendered in technical fabrics and bold, conspicuous elements such as stripes of varying size and direction, madras prints and psychedelic camo. Oversized cardigans and batik sweaters grounded the sportier pieces and injected the lineup with a more relaxed feel. One couldn’t help but notice Giorgetti’s penchant for maximum contrast such as the differing scales in prints ranging from the aforementioned camo to Hawaiian florals. This was made especially prominent due to the range of different colors used from turquoise and neon yellow to lavender and dusty pink. All in all, Giorgetti’s strengths were on full display and takes the casual athletic vibe to a whole new level.
