Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2019

A deeply simplistic show that reveled in its ability to make statements with limited resources, Tom Ford’s spring/summer 2019 runway show was a reminder that slowing down a pace can be incredibly beneficial. Tom Ford does not present all the information at once, as the audience was intentionally drip-fed to retain only a bit of the garment selection at a time, falling in love with a color scheme before being slowly introduced to the next logical step in that color wheel. I particularly loved the light brown blazer with pink shirt, as it represented the brand’s last conquest into covering many themes of simplicity, from tans to whites and eventually ending with some of the darkest colors possible. Many of the pieces within this show could fit well into any man’s closet as an excellent line between practicality and showmanship was struck during this exceptionable runway collection.
