Off-White Spring/Summer 2018

Streetwear sensation Virgil Abloh continues to explore new ways of urban dressing for his legion of fans who look to Abloh for what's new and what's next. Being in touch with his young client base is important for Abloh to understand what their needs are but also what their mindset is about the world at large. Generating new ideas while maintaining his gritty edge is what make this designer so special, and why so many of his fans flock to each of his collaborations, whether they be with Nike shoes or Warby Parker sunnies (sold out FYI). This season, he played with a  variety of textures and fabrics, from chunky knits to high-tech athleticwear. Belted trench coats and utilitarian accessories indicate a war-like mood for this outing, perhaps signaling the difficult tensions present with the US and other countries. Leave it to Abloh to amplify his voice and point of view in the most modern of clothes for this woke generation.
