Moncler Gamme Bleu Spring/Summer 2018
Fans of Thom Browne will revel in witnessing all his signature elements for his namesake label creeping into Moncler Gamme Bleu’s latest collection. Cropped, closely-fitted shrunken suits have become the staple for Browne’s designs and they are evident here in his signature heather grey hue but also in plaid/gingham varieties. Yet for Moncler Gamme Bleu, outerwear reigns supreme. So he incorporated the typical lineup of down jackets and puffer coats, but with the Browne touch. His outerwear was rendered in the same fabrication and texture as his tailored suits for complete coordination. Every last item and detail was included to finish off the look: a three-piece suit, tie and coat. But as seasonal fashion continues to undergo a multitude of shifts, and consumers travel more than ever, Browne ensured that this collection, although technically slated for spring deliveries, contained both heavy and light-weight alternatives suitable for any climate. Each look essentially came in both versions thanks to a simple transitional layering effect. Practicality is not a word often associated with Browne’s extravagant designs, but function was definitely a priority for spring and it worked very well.
