Marni Spring/Summer 2019
A very casual set of garments, Marni’s spring/summer 2019 collection did an excellent job of displaying an array of outfits meant to have leisure in mind, but unfortunately this leads to a lack of any real artistic expression. Different outfits within the runway show simply felt uninspired, falling back into safety nets of horizontal stripes and colorblocked garments. There were a few plaid outfits I enjoyed, but for the most part the entire collection felt like a hodgepodge of inspired outfits from other luxury brand designers. I could actually see a man fitting a lot of these garments into his personal collection, but that is meant to address how simple the outfits are, not as a compliment to the brand in any way.
