Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2019

Albeit a little underwhelming in its grand scope, Jacquemus’ Spring/Summer 2019 runway show did well in terms of staying consistent with the theme of fresh air and tropical sensibilities. Colors often ranged around a brighter spectrum, occasionally giving off a slight lifeguard vibe in terms of how the outfits are meant to be represented. I particularly enjoyed the sunflower shirt with the yellow tie, helping to pull together inspiration from numerous natural and earthly sources. There is much that a designer could do with this theme, but besides a few moments of creativity, I was left feeling a bit disappointed in how this concept did not feel fully developed. I think a man could find a few pieces within this collection to add to his summer vacation wardrobe, but combing through to find the gems may not feel worth it.
