Ermenegildo Zegna Spring/Summer 2018

Taking a cue from today’s ath-luxe fixation, Alessandro Santori sought to embrace a more casual mood for Emernegildo Zegna’s spring couture line, though by no means were the fabrics and quality compromised. Rich, lightweight blazers and cashmere joggers evoked a soft, tender moment charged by a color palette that filled the whole spectrum. There was none of that stuffy, formal attire that has come to be expected for the legacy label. Breathable suits were worn over fine-knit, scoop neck t-shirts and mesh tops, marking a shift from corporate dwelling to a hybrid of street-meets-office. The clothes had a sense of ease and effortlessness about them that Sartori seemed to acknowledge and implement for todays on the move gentleman. These are clothes that are made to be worn, to be seen and to be moved around in, for movement and practicality are essential qualities the Zegna customer is on always on the lookout for. And who doesn’t love to large carryall to pack all your junk in? The utilitarian bags with cargo pockets and belt closures are perfect for any serious traveler looking to make the right kind of no-fuss fashion statement.
