Dirk Bikkembergs Spring/Summer 2018
Essential in every man’s style repertoire is the ability to add some fresh touches without straying away from their particular fashion aesthetic. In a minimalist’s case, the smallest details are paramount. Lee Wood, newly minted creative director of Dirk Bikkembergs, understands this style conundrum more than many, which is why his outing today of sharp tailoring and crisp sportswear retained all the elements of sleek dressing without looking repetitive or dull. Everything from pops of flashy green and cargo pockets to leather patches and off-center buttons gave character to each garment. Boxy shoulders are de rigeur right now and the ones featured in the windowpane checked suits added to the exciting flair of the collection. Muted colors in stone and sand were the perfect canvas for some of the abstract motifs on the back of shirts and front pockets. Clingy knits and tailored dress shorts also captivate the eye with excellent levels of proportion and cut.
