Celine Spring/Summer 2019

It was classic Celine meshed with some James Bond simplicity. The luxury brand’s spring/summer 2019 runway show made a strong effort on accessibility and curating a collection of garments that are not only practical, but sleek and stylish. Staying centered around a dark color palette and a black and white color cycle, I particularly enjoyed Celine’s use of vertical stripes to help break up some of the monotony that only a two color show can unfortunately provide. Perhaps that may be the downfall of the runway show, as the concept of “playing it safe” may be too evident. Gorgeous in the actual garments themselves but perhaps a little too simple in its execution, a man can find more simple pieces for his wardrobe than anything truly show stopping. That being said. Any of the high end black and white suits seen throughout the show would make an excellent addition to any man’s wardrobe based off the grounds of its simple, yet straightforward execution.
