Posted by Blaize Stewart on March 5, 2013 at 4:00 PM

As far as Hollywood goes, Halle Berry’s set the standard for success very high. She is the very definition of what it means to be an A-List superstar. From winning an Oscar to inspiring a rap song, this woman has undoubtedly left her mark in entertainment history through her enduring career and style.

Berry first hit the national stage in the pageant world. She took the crown for Miss Teen All-America in 1985 and became Miss Ohio USA the very next year. She was first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant in 1986 which led Berry to work as a model.

Eventually she worked her way onto the screen with a role in the television series Living Dolls. Roles soon followed in Boomerang opposite Eddie Murphy and a small appearance in The Flintstones. The first movie where Berry receives critical acclaim was in 1998’s Bukworth and the praise kept on rolling for Berry for her role as the title character in Introducing Dorothy Dandrige.

In 2000 she made her foray into the commercially successful X-Men franchise which gave her a taste of international attention. She did not waste the publicity either. 2001 was a pivotal year for Berry through the films Swordfish and Monster’s Ball. She made history with her role of Leticia Musgrove in Monster’s Ball by becoming the first African American woman to the Oscar for Best Leading Actress.

Winning an Oscar certainly didn’t go to Berry’s head as she continued to work in a variety of roles. In 2002 she joined the ranks of famous Bond girls by starring alongside Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day. She also continued her superhero role with the X-men franchise and took another comic book role by becoming the feline heroine in Catwoman.

Aside from her film work, Berry has been hailed as one of Hollywood’s most glamorous and stylish celebrities. She has been on numerous Best Dressed lists throughout her career and to this day remains one of the most praised fashionistas in the entertainment industry.

Of course the best thing to accent her outstanding wardrobe is her beautiful face. She has been on People’s “Most Beautiful People” more times than any other woman in the industry. Of course we can’t forget all the Hottest and Sexiest lists she appears on as well.

Basically this feisty actress has used her talents to make herself Hollywood royalty. Berry’s beauty, style and skill as an actress have truly made her a living legend. The best part is she isn’t done yet. With yet another X-men movie in the works for 2014 and the thriller The Call hitting theaters soon you can be sure Halle Berry’s reign in Hollywood will not be ending anytime soon.

Why she’s hot!

One thing about Halle Berry that makes her stand out is she is truly timeless. The beautiful brown eyes still hold a spunky sparkle and her smile could melt the coldest of hearts. Berry has accomplished something that few actresses in Hollywood can do: age gracefully. It’s easy to see because she looks just as radiant now as she did in 1985 as Miss Teen All-American.

What kind of man does she like?

My guess would be whatever type of man her fiancé Olivier Martinez is. Berry has been getting cozy with this French-born actor since 2010 and even though she was reputed to swear off marriage after two divorces she is giving it another go with this beau.

Something you should know…

She is the first Oscar winner to ever accept a Razzie Award in person. She took the Worst Actress Award in 2004 for her role in Catwoman. Unlike most, Berry took in all in good fun and even gave a speech and routine at the ceremony. Beautiful with a sense of humor and the ability to laugh at herself? That’s something you don’t see every day.
